Get that ice cream

It's amazing what delicious treasures you discover on your way to the bathroom in Myer.

Case in point....ANDRE DOUGLAS....23-year-old male model/cutie extraordinaire.

I spied him reppin' Levi's but, upon further (ahem) research, have discovered he also rolls with the likes of American Eagle, Abercrombie & Fitch and D squared.

There's no hiding it. This is just a shameless excuse to collate and share some hot, hot pieces. And what. Witness the fitness.

You're welcome. And enjoy.

FOB

Heads-up and pics via the good peeps at SnkrFrkr.

Fres
h drop from luxe brand, GOURMET.

Understated yet at home on the street. They exude a certain grown-man vibe, which I'm finding oh so sexy.

I would consider carrying the child of the man who rocked any of these pieces. Seriously. (So any brothas with the balls and bank account to pull it off, cruise on through to Karmaloop)

Thoroughly enjoying them all, particularly The Uno in white leather. Tasty.

Traps.

We avoid them. We set them. We fall into them. It's life, I get it. We're humans, it's what we do. But shit, I hate feeling cornered. Duped. Obligated. There's something obviously demeaning about knowing you've effectively become someone's bitch, in whatever capacity.

The greatest source of emoness, in my opinion, is setting oneself up. And it happens. Over and over and over again. We find ourselves in the same situations, we know how the story ends (and it's never pretty). Yet we continue to blunder through them. Sometimes with false hope, like, "Oh, I know how this shit'll go down. I'm prepared." Yeah, right. We can't expect for the outcome to be different if we don't approach things in a totally different way - mentally, emotionally, physically.

We all have our vices - material, emotional, whatever. Things we can never seem to give up but that always always always catch us out. Possibly putting a momentary grin on our faces but eventually leaving us out in the cold.

And when I say 'we', I obviously mean me. Stupid stupid girl.

Traps are all well and good. We make mistakes, trudge through mud, but hopefully learn along the way how not to get stuck again. Traps are inevitable. But they don't always have to hurt.

Tread carefully.

Kiss my...

...lazy ass. Aha!

Nah, kidding. Or am I?

So I signed up to the General Pants Co. mailing list a whiiiile ago (don't ask me why, seeing as we don't have one GP store in Perth) and received the regular drop in my inbox today. This time around the hype was about their new season denim range but what really tickled my fancy was the dopeness of the graphic they used.

HOT. Right?

This, in turn, reminded me of my current (slight) obsession. Lipstick. I'd bought a few blah lippie shades since Summer 08 but had rarely been brave enough to break them out. This winter, things changed. I'm not quite sure what the reason was. New crowd? New outlook? Who knows. But ultimately, I just stopped giving a fuck what 'most' people were doing and using lip colours that weren't nude or clear.

And surprise, surprise...I liked it. Shit, I love it. I defy any female who doesn't feel amazing when she's wearing that red lipstick. Shit is hot. Seriously.

Though being a sucker for the glossy mags, I was drawn to
orange, coral and fuschia, seen on many a runway model. I have yet to test-drive all the major brands but I think I have built a solid basic palette so far.

Here are a couple my staples.

Revlon Wild Orchid
K, so I need Effects....I'm definitely not amazing without it!

Napolean Hara
See? Baha. Cheers to my girl Simone at the NP counter for letting me 'play'.

I've derived much satisfaction from taking my pout out, especially during the day. It's part of my new 'power suit'. Skinny jeans, white tee, fresh face and lips that go POP.

Extra, extra...

Schoolin' in the city is going to prove very expensive for me. Stumbled through Borders after class and stumbled upon a never-before-noticed quality little journal. I mean, with its fluro yellow and pink cover, it was practically screaming "Buy me, you hipster wannabe!" So I did.

"T": The Journal of T-shirt Culture. Sounds perfect and it very nearly is. Based in Aus...Melbourne, in fact, and featuring a huuuuge array of local and international material. All the local plugs makes me wanna pack my shit and move to Burn City asap :(

I'm a little sad that I had to discover it at Issue 5, as I hate sleeping on good shit like this, but its a solid issue nonetheless. Includes articles on The Evolution of Bape, A-Z of Rock Tees AND (my favourite) Step By Step...a freakin' how-to guide on the entire t-shirt making process. Oh, plus, for the boys, there's a wet t-shirt fashion shoot, of which I've graciously included a tit-bit for ya ;)

Maad read, awes pictures, major inspiration. Pretty dear...damn that SelectAir, but I believe I'm a convert. Will be hangin' out for Issue 6, due Nov/Dec 09.

Ch-ch-ch-check it out.

Fuellin' My Fire

Ok, so get me a Diesel man, stat!

Now all who know me will know my love for Com, so imagine how a-flutter my heart was when I saw an entire shop window filled with his loveliness, reppin' this man-scent. Hence, I just HAD to conduct further research into what sorta product would be worthy of Com's time and street cred. And here are my delicious findings ;)

I've gotta give the Diesel camp an A+ for all-round performance with their latest men's fragrance, Only The Brave. The bottle, as well as its contents, is suitably manly and the current ad campaign is fyyyyyyaaah! Featuring models Sam Way, Tony Ward and Daniel Pimentel AND rapper Common, there's never been a better reason to harden the fuck up...all the girls will want you and all the boys will want to be you. Seriously.

Kinda wished I had a boyfriend to gift this Manliness In A Bottle to :(
Haha..nart.

I don't work for Diesel (or Loreal..who owns them), I'm just killing two birds with one stone - finally posting another blog AND sharing pictures of pretty boys :)

So enjoy...but in the words of Jay-Z, "Pull your skirt back down, grow a set man"...this is Only For The Brave.

Mic check...1,2

So it's taken a minute for me to join the other cool kids in the blogosphere, but I'm here. And, to be quite honest, I don't know whether this will fall off like a lot of my other grand schemes - fashion design, painting, llama-breeding - but shit, I'll give it a shot. I figure, as long as I'm spending half my life in front of this computer and continue to be obsessed with sneakers, hip-hop, general coolness AND maintain the ability to string a few words together, why not indulge my inner-narcissist. Lord knows she's been ignored for long enough.

And yes, this particular post holds nothing of actual substance, but it's the first one. And like many a first time, it's not amazing; there's still a lot to learn; but damn, it still feels pretty special.

My personal suggestion is to enjoy it while it lasts, but while my mind remains firmly fixed by this particular notion, I will continue to bring you Kicks and Pieces.
